Bastide is a city building strategy of life in the 13th century where you must guide your village of peasants to thrive and survive against hunger, disease, enemies and their environment so that they may grow into a fortified town. To be able to survive and grow, efficiently managing your peasants is extremely important with anything and everything ready to cause havoc at any moment. There is a day and night cycle.

In Bastide there are over 15 jobs to assign your peasants to so that they can collect food resources and expand the town.

You must efficiently use resources to place and build more structures so that your town can grow and eventually be fortified and efficient enough to counter the brutal environment surrounding you.

Build defensive structures to try and eliminate the dangers of enemy factions and animals.

Maintain your peasant’s happiness and health so that they don’t desert you, keep your peasants happy to expand your population. This is done by having a wide variaty of food, medicine and clothes.

Use the surrounding animals to either hunt or to place into pastures.

Hunting animals will provide meat, bones and leather. Allowing your people to eat, make tools and stay warm.
